ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is set to depart for Riyadh tomorrow on a three-day official visit to Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
The Prime Minister will be accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, along with senior members of the federal cabinet.
In this regard, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will attend the ninth edition of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) Conference, titled “The New Compass: Unlocking Prosperity.”
The global forum will bring together world leaders, investors, policymakers, and economic experts to discuss emerging trends and opportunities in global development and investment.
Furthermore, the Prime Minister is expected to hold meetings with the Saudi leadership to discuss a wide range of bilateral and regional issues.
In addition, talks will focus on increasing cooperation in trade, investment, energy, and manpower. Prime Minister Shehbaz will also meet other world leaders and heads of international organizations on the sidelines of the FII Conference.
He is expected to mention Pakistan’s investment potential, economic reforms, and initiatives for sustainable development.
Moreover, the government official said the visit underlines Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its strategic and economic partnership with Saudi Arabia, a longstanding and trusted ally.
On the other hand, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia have signed a Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement during a high-level meeting between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh.
The two countries share strong historical, religious, and economic ties, and Riyadh remains one of Islamabad’s leading development and investment partners.
However, the Foreign Office focused on the fact that the Prime Minister’s visit indicates Pakistan’s proactive approach to advancing economic diplomacy and attracting global investment.
It added that participation in the FII Conference will provide Pakistan an important opportunity to engage with international investors and promote collaboration in key sectors of the economy.
