PM Shehbaz to Attend World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting in Switzerland

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will be in Switzerland next month. The visit will be made to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF).

The 56th annual WEF meeting will be held in Davos from Jan. 19 to Jan. 23. The theme has been set as “A Spirit of Dialogue.”

Global leaders from government, business, civil society and academia are expected to be gathered. Key global challenges will be discussed. Future priorities will be outlined.

Meetings with world leaders and investors are expected to be held by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Economic challenges will be highlighted. Regional and international issues will also be discussed. Opportunities for cooperation will be explored.

Preparations for the visit were reviewed on Monday. A meeting was chaired in Islamabad by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.

Instructions were issued to maximize engagements with visiting heads of state and government. Senior leaders of global financial and business institutions were also included.

Opportunities for collaboration with the private sector were stressed. Bilateral meetings and media engagements were discussed in detail.

According to the WEF, discussions will be centered on growth, resilience and innovation amid global uncertainty.
