JEDDAH: Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a limited-level meeting on Friday with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah.
Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Chief of Defence Forces and Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir were also present during the meeting.
According to a post on X by the prime minister’s international affairs spokesperson Musharraf Zaidi, the meeting opened with a message of goodwill and respect for Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.

Appreciation was expressed for Saudi Arabia’s long-standing support for Pakistan.
Pakistan’s full solidarity with Saudi Arabia during challenging times was reaffirmed by the prime minister.
Recent developments in the region were discussed in detail. Agreement was reached on the need to work together for regional peace and stability.
Assurance was given that Pakistan would continue to stand firmly with Saudi Arabia. Cooperation for shared peace and security objectives in the region was also emphasised.
Earlier, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif arrived in Saudi Arabia on an official visit at the invitation of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
Only a brief stay of a few hours was scheduled.
The prime minister was received at the Royal Terminal of Jeddah International Airport by Makkah Region Deputy Governor Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Riyadh Ahmed Farooq, Pakistan’s Consul General in Jeddah Syed Mustafa Rabbani, and other diplomatic officials.

Regional developments, security conditions, and bilateral relations were expected to be discussed in detail during the meeting.
Pakistan’s constructive diplomatic role in the region was highlighted by the visit, according to officials.
