ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif condemned Houthi attacks on Saudi oil tankers in the Red Sea during a telephone call with Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman, reaffirming Pakistan’s full support for the Kingdom.
Sharif described the attacks as unacceptable and said they violated international law, threatened freedom of navigation and undermined regional peace and security.
The prime minister expressed Pakistan’s complete solidarity with Saudi Arabia and said the country stood firmly with the Saudi leadership and people at a critical time.
He said he conveyed the support of the Pakistani nation, along with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, to the Saudi leadership.
The two leaders agreed to maintain close coordination to promote regional peace, security and stability.
They also pledged to work together to ensure the uninterrupted flow of lawful maritime commerce through the Red Sea, the Strait of Hormuz and the wider region.
