ASHKHABAD: Pakistan and Turkmanestan have vowed to enhance cooperation in the areas of mutual interest.
The Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif meets the President of Turkmanestan in Ashkhabad.
Both the leaders vow to enhance the cooperation in all the sectors of the mutual interest.
The prime minister revives the invitation to the Turkmans President to visit Pakistan.
The PM offered the President to make use of the Gwadar and the Karachi Ports to enhance its access to the Middle East and the African countries.
Both the leaders negotiated on the political and the strategic situation of the region.
The Turkmans President stressed to enhance the diplomatic and the economic ties between both the countries.
Earlier, the Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif received a warm welcome on reaching Ashkhabad.
Prime Minister of Pakistan has arrived in Ashgabat, where he was received by Turkmans Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet, Mohammad Khan.
The visit comes at the invitation of Turkmen President Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The Pakistani delegation includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Minister for Energy Owais Leghari, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistants Tariq Fatemi and Talha Barki.
During the two-day visit, the Prime Minister will participate in an important international forum.
The event is being held in connection with the International Year of Peace and Trust and the International Day of Neutrality, while also marking the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s status as a permanently neutral state.
On the sidelines of the forum, the Prime Minister is also expected to hold bilateral meetings with global leaders in attendance.
