Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated that in Balochistan, the terrorist outfits Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij have launched coordinated attacks against Pakistan.
Addressing the federal cabinet meeting, the Prime Minister said that these attacks resulted in the martyrdom of 17 security personnel and 31 innocent civilians.
In retaliatory operations conducted by security forces, 180 terrorists were killed.
He expressed deep sorrow over the targeting and martyrdom of ordinary Baloch workers in Gwadar, saying the entire nation is grieving this tragedy.
The Prime Minister described his recent meeting with Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Sohail Afridi as positive and assured him of the federal government’s full cooperation and support.
Regarding the T20 World Cup, he explained that the decision not to play against India was taken after careful consideration.
By refusing to face India, Pakistan is standing in solidarity with Bangladesh.
He stressed that politics should have no place in sports, and Pakistan must stand firmly with Bangladesh in this matter.
The Prime Minister also noted that amid the tense situation involving Iran, Pakistan has played a brotherly and responsible role in the region.
