ISLAMABAD: PM Shahbaz Sharif says that Afghanistan launched attacks on Pakistan from across the border.
While chairing the cabinet meeting, the PM said that Afghanistan have given a free-hand to the militants.
Unfortunately, the Fitna al Khawarij launched an attack on our armed forces which had to be retaliated.
Our armed forces, under the leadership of Field Marshal Asim Munir gave a befitting response to the enemy.
The ceasefire is carried out upon Afghanistan’s request.
The Afghan militants kill the security personnel, and the civilians of Pakistan and we have had enough now.
We stressed repeatedly to the Afghan government to work for peace and stability but they did not pay head to our suggestion.
The Afghans are our brothers and sisters, we have hosted some 40 lac Afghans for five decades despite the fact that we had had limited resources.
Now the ball is in Afghanistan’s court. We were forced to respond. The ceasefire had to be carried out upon Afghanistan’s request for 48 hours.
The prime minister said Pakistan and Afghanistan share a long border. The question comes that how did the Fitna al Khwarij rose again.
The PM said that the militancy had been eliminated in 2018, then a government, brought and settled the militants in KP. While talking on Gaza Ceasefire, The PM said that politicizing GAZA ceasefire is not helping the Palestinians cause.
They are happy on the ceasefire. Why a person, who made that ceasefire happen, should be admired. Not only Pakistan, but also Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Indonesia, Qatar, Turkey, and UAE played their part for Gaza ceasefire. He noted that the series of bloodshed has come to an end after the Gaza ceasefire. We have always raised voice for Palestine and we will always do that.
The PM claimed that this will be Pakistan’s last program with the IMF.
