ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif chaired a high-level meeting to review the implementation of fuel conservation and austerity measures in light of the evolving regional situation.
The government appealed to citizens to actively support the national fuel-saving campaign by avoiding unnecessary travel and adopting teleconferencing practices in offices and workplaces wherever possible.
He noted that despite external challenges, the government has prioritized public relief and has taken measures over the past three weeks to minimize the financial burden on citizens.
The Prime Minister further revealed that the federal government had allocated Rs125 billion through savings and cuts in the development budget to prevent an increase in petroleum prices.
This intervention, he said, was aimed at shielding the public from the adverse effects of global tensions and rising energy costs.
This initiative is expected to help digitize data of such vehicles nationwide, enabling owners to benefit from future government relief programs more efficiently.
The meeting was also informed that a digital dashboard has been developed to ensure continuous monitoring of petroleum supply, demand, and the overall supply chain.
The Prime Minister reiterated the importance of national unity and prudent resource management to navigate the current challenges effectively.
