ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif repeated that the progress and prosperity of Balochistan and the welfare of its people remain among the federal government’s foremost priorities.
He focused on that the government was determined to ensure equal opportunities in education and employment for the youth of the province, enabling them to contribute effectively to the national mainstream.
The prime minister underlined that sustainable development in Balochistan was essential for Pakistan’s overall progress and stability.
The premier expressed these views during a meeting with President of the National Party and former chief minister, Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, who called on him in Islamabad.
Dr Abdul Malik Baloch lauded the prime minister’s special focus on Balochistan, acknowledging his efforts for the socio-economic uplift of the province.
Furthermore, the meeting also reviewed ongoing development projects in Balochistan, with both leaders agreeing on the need for accelerated implementation to deliver tangible benefits to the people.
In this regard, Prime Minister Shehbaz assured Dr Abdul Malik Baloch that the federal government would continue to extend full support to the province, both in terms of funding and policy measures, to promote inclusive growth.
The prime minister mentioned the importance of engaging with all stakeholders to ensure that development projects reflect the aspirations and needs of the local population.
