PM orders immediate launch of Gwadar Safe City Project

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday directed Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi to immediately launch the Gwadar Safe City Project, focusing on the urgency of increasing the region’s security infrastructure. 

Minister Naqvi informed the prime minister about a newly developed policy for Pakistani pilgrims traveling to the holy sites in Iran and Iraq. The interior minister also provided an update on the overall law and order situation in Balochistan, with particular focus on ongoing counter-terrorism operations and measures to stabilize restive regions. 

In this regard, earlier, during a visit to Quetta, Interior Minister Naqvi visited the Frontier Corps (FC) Balochistan North headquarters.  He was welcomed by Inspector General FC Major General Abid Mazhar, who introduced him to senior officers of the Force.

The minister laid a floral wreath at the martyrs’ memorial and offered Fateha in remembrance of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the war against terrorism. He paid glowing tributes to their bravery and reaffirmed the nation’s gratitude for their services.

Meanwhile, Minister Naqvi lauded the Frontier Corps for their pivotal role in maintaining law and order in Balochistan and their successful efforts in combating terrorist threats.
