ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan has decided to establish dedicated immigration counters for foreign passengers at all international airports across the country in order to promote the tourism.
The decision has been made under the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, with the objective of streamlining immigration procedures, reducing processing times, and improving the overall experience of international travelers arriving in Pakistan.
In this sense, this particular initiative also connected with ongoing efforts to boost tourism, sustain commercial activity, and attract foreign investment, all of which are critical components of the government’s economic revival agenda.
The Ministry of Interior and the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) have been tasked with the swift implementation of this policy, including personnel deployment and infrastructure upgrades where necessary.
The initiative is set to be rolled out in phases, with major international airports including Islamabad, Lahore, and Karachi being prioritized in the first phase. Authorities are optimistic that the new system will be operational within the coming weeks.
