ISLAMABAD: The nation is celebrating the 149th birth anniversary of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah today with profound reverence and national zeal. December 25th is observed as a public holiday across Pakistan to honor the Father of the Nation.
Official and public events are being held throughout the day to pay tribute to his tireless and historic struggle for the creation of a separate homeland for the Muslims of the subcontinent. Born in Karachi on December 25, 1876, Jinnah was a distinguished lawyer and politician whose unwavering leadership transformed the dream of Pakistan into reality.
The day is a reflection on his core principles of Faith, Unity, and Discipline, which he exemplified through his character and actions. Against formidable political opposition, he successfully led the movement for an independent state where, as he envisioned, every citizen would enjoy equal rights and freedom. His advocacy of the Two-Nation Theory secured a distinct national identity for Muslims.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in a special message, honored Jinnah’s guiding principles of equality, religious harmony, tolerance, and justice. He emphasized the Quaid’s vision for a state free from discrimination.
The Pakistan Armed Forces, including Army Chief General Asim Munir, also paid rich tributes. They reiterated their unwavering commitment to Jinnah’s vision of a strong, sovereign, democratic, and prosperous Pakistan. The military pledged its full role in ensuring national stability, peace, and development, aligning itself with the foundational ideals of the state.
Meanwhile the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Balochistan, Muhammad Tahir, affirmed on Tuesday that the police are diligently working to restore and maintain peace in the Ziarat tourist area and its adjacent regions. He emphasized that special security measures are in place for the protection of the historic Quaid-e-Azam Residency.
The IGP made these remarks while addressing a police assembly during a one-day visit to the district. Stating that Ziarat is a peaceful and pleasant tourist destination, Tahir underscored the police’s commitment to ensuring law and order to safeguard the lives and property of citizens and visitors alike.
