PKNAP demands district status for Muslim Bagh

PkNAP Warns Corruption "Spreading Like Termites" in Balochistan

QUETTA: The Pashtunkhwa National Awami Party (PKNAP) has issued a strong demand to the Chief Minister of Balochistan, urging the immediate elevation of Muslim Bagh to district status. In a press statement, the party condemned the continued denial of this status as “open injustice” to the region’s residents.

The party highlighted Muslim Bagh’s long administrative history, noting it has functioned as a formal sub-district (tehsil) since 1901. It argued that the area is fully qualified for district status based on historical, geographical, and administrative grounds. The growing population and increasing public needs, the statement added, necessitate this upgrade to facilitate local access to essential services in education, health, and governance.

In its conclusion, the party called on the Chief Minister to take “immediate and concrete steps” in light of the provincial assembly’s resolution and the legitimate aspirations of the people. The demand seeks to finally grant what the PKNAP terms a “long-standing constitutional right” to the residents of Muslim Bagh.
