LAKKI MARWAT: A gas pipeline supplying natural gas to Punjab was blown up in Lakki Marwat’s Wanda Ameer area early Wednesday.
Unidentified individuals planted the explosive device under cover of darkness.
The blast was loud and echoed for several kilometres, residents said.
Police and SNGPL teams rushed to the scene to assess the damage and secure the area.
Officials confirmed that this section of the pipeline has been attacked several times before.
“This isn’t the first time,” a police officer said. “This part of the pipeline has been blown up in the past as well.”
Meanwhile, two policemen (ex servicemen) were shot dead by unidentified motorcyclists in Kolachi, Dera Ismail Khan district.
As per details, one of the policemen was unwell and his friend decided to take him to the hospital when unidentified gunmen opened fire at them, both died on the spot.
