QUETTA:A vital drinking water project in Chagai was attacked by unknown individuals who set its pipeline on fire. The project, worth 840 million rupees, was designed to bring clean water directly to homes in the area for the first time.
A local water official condemned the attack, calling it an act against the community that robs thousands of residents of a solution to their long-standing water shortage.
Police have launched an investigation to find and arrest those responsible. Authorities have promised that the culprits will not be spared.
Workers are now assessing the damage and have started repairs to get the crucial project back on track. Local residents, who were eagerly awaiting the project’s completion, have demanded swift action against the attackers.
