Musa Khel: Following a conservative tradition, some eight people have been forced to walk on the burning embers.
According to the details, some eight people were caught after being accused of theft in a shop.
The shopkeeper insisted to follow a tradition by forcing the alleged people to walk on the burning embers.
The tribal Jirga ordered to carry out the tradition and all eight people were forced to walk on the burning embers.
The DC Musa Khel has said that the action has been taken by the police. So far nobody has been reported as injured.
He said that the incident is tragic and the people responsible for it will be taken into the accountability.
On the other hand, a member of the Human Rights Commission has expressed deep grievance over the incident.
He has said that any Tribal Jirga is illegal in Pakistan. Such incidents should be discouraged and the responsible people should dealt with iron hands.
It is worth mentioning that another such incident had taken place in Degari area of Balochistan where a couple was murdered in the name of honour.
A 24 years old woman along with his friend was killed by the members of her community in a desolate place.
The video of the incident went viral on the social media and sparking outrage across the country.
Many such decision have been carried out by the local Jirga which caused tragic incidents later on.
This is why human rights organization stress the government to look into such matters and ensure the supremacy of law and the constitution.
It is challenging to rout out the conservation in short period of time.
However, slowly and gradually, the law-enforcement agencies can launch a framework on it and ensure the implementation.
Only the institutions of law can make decision based on merit and evidences.
