RAWALPINDI: Punjab’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has forecast heavy rain and snowfall in Murree, the Galiyat region, and surrounding areas until Jan. 23.
Authorities advised tourists to check weather conditions before traveling and to take precautionary measures.
The administration has set up 13 facilitation centers to handle emergencies. It has also ordered officials to remain on high alert around the clock.
PDMA said weather activity will intensify in Murree and nearby areas in the coming days. Officials warned that snowfall and rain could disrupt road traffic.
PDMA Director General Irfan Ali Kathia said the facilitation centers aim to ensure the safety and convenience of tourists.
Punjab Relief Commissioner Nabeel Javed instructed all relevant departments to stay on high alert and remain fully prepared for emergencies.
He said district administrations will remain available at all times to guide and protect visitors.
Authorities urged tourists to travel only after reviewing weather updates. Officials also stressed the need for advance traffic management to keep roads moving.

Nabeel Javed said responsible behavior during adverse weather is essential to protect lives.
In case of an emergency, the public can contact the PDMA helpline at 1129, a spokesperson said.
