PDMA gives flood warning for 18 Baluchistan districts

QUETTA: The provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has given flood warning about 18 districts of Baluchistan.

A circular flowed by PDMA has been assigned to the deputy commissioners of 18 districts of Baluchistan.

There is a forecast of the rains on 19th, 20th, 22nd and 25th July in the 18 districts of Baluchistan.

The report says that two spells of heavy rain can cause severe flood in the 18 districts.

The authority has advised to the concerned departments to stay on high alert.

The PDMA has further advised to shift the machinery and necessary equipment to the sensitive areas.

The residents living nearby the rainwater streams are instructed to shift to safer places.

The tourists have also been strictly banned from visiting the tourists’ spots.

It is worth mentioning that floods have hit several districts of Punjab in the last couple of days.

Chakwal remained the most effected part with 423 mm of rain.

The rain paused on Friday but not before destroying the entire road infrastructure of the district.

Hundreds of animals are reported to get swept away with the rain water. Jhelum was the other district that was hit but the flood in the ongoing rains spell.
