HBL PSL 11 to Begin on March 26

LAHORE: The decision was taken at a meeting of the HBL PSL Governing Council. The meeting was held at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore. It was chaired by Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi.

Representatives of all eight franchises attended the meeting. Senior officials from the PCB and the PSL were also present.

At the start of the meeting, the owners of the new Sialkot and Hyderabad teams were welcomed. Congratulations were extended on their inclusion in the HBL PSL family.

The PCB chairman and participants also congratulated the PSL team on the successful auction of the new franchises. The process was described as a clear sign of the league’s growth and evolution.

Several key matters were discussed during the meeting. These included the schedule for HBL PSL 11, player retentions, and options for player recruitment. A hybrid system combining auction and draft formats, known as “Draction,” was reviewed. The option of allowing direct player signings was also considered.

It was formally decided that HBL PSL 11 will commence on Thursday, March 26. The announcement was said to mark the beginning of a new phase for the league. Excitement was noted among fans, players, and stakeholders.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the formation of a working group was approved. The group will further review agenda items on Saturday. A follow-up meeting of the Governing Council may be convened if required.
