Passports of deported beggars to be blocked: Salik Hussain

ISLAMABAD :Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis, Chaudhry Salik Hussain, has announced that the government is blocking the passports of Pakistani beggars who are deported from foreign countries.

In a statement to the media, the Minister confirmed that passports of individuals deported for begging are being confiscated and will not be renewed for a period of five years. He revealed that this action is part of a broader crackdown, stating that the passports of thousands of Pakistanis involved in various crimes abroad have already been blocked.

“We do not want anyone to go abroad illegally,” Chaudhry Salik Hussain stated firmly. “There is no visa for begging.” He specifically highlighted the issue of individuals traveling to Saudi Arabia on Umrah visas and then engaging in begging, which tarnishes the country’s image.

The Minister also shared positive developments for the Pakistani diaspora, announcing that 20,000 Pakistanis will be granted residency in Spain. He added that issues related to the Bureau of Immigration have been resolved, and new conditions are being implemented for the issuance of licenses to recruiting agencies to ensure safer and legal overseas employment.
