Negligence on N-65 highway: Passengers' lives at risk

BOLAN: According to reports, a serious safety crisis persists on the critical N-65 Sindh-Balochistan National Highway in Bolan.

Transporters continue to put lives at risk by violating vehicle ordinances and dangerously seating passengers on the roofs of vehicles.

This reckless behavior has resulted in numerous tragic accidents, leaving countless families devastated and thousands of men, women, and youth disabled.

Although vans are designed to accommodate only 16 passengers, owners are cramming more people in to earn extra profit, pushing innocent lives into danger.

This is not only a clear violation of traffic laws but also a serious ethical offense, directly endangering lives.

Despite the severity of the situation, district administrations of Jafarabad, Nasirabad, Sibi, and Kachhi have failed to take action.

Highway Police in Nasirabad appear indifferent, ignoring their duty like pigeons with closed eyes.

These district administrations have effectively surrendered government authority to the will of transporters, undermining the rule of law.

No serious legal measures are being taken.

In fact, officials from the concerned districts and highway police can reportedly be seen neglecting their responsibilities in exchange for small bribes ranging from Rs. 100 to 200.

Authorities must take strict action against such transporters who violate vehicle safety laws.

This should include heavy fines, vehicle impoundment, and cancellation of licenses.

Officers at checkpoints must prevent such vehicles from continuing on their route and act against them on the spot.

The protection of human life must be the administration’s top priority, and all relevant authorities—including the Jafarabad administration, Nasirabad Highway Police, and administrations of Sibi and Kachhi—must fulfill their responsibilities without delay.
