Pakistanis have more clarity on militancy: DG ISPR

RAWALPINDI: Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General ISPR, stated that terrorists targeted a cadet college where children from tribal communities were studying, resulting in the martyrdom of three young soldiers.

He revealed that security forces conducted 410 quadcopter strikes in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, noting that terrorists use such drones for attacks, while the Pakistan Army employs drones and quadcopters solely for surveillance and monitoring purposes.

The DG ISPR accused Afghanistan of running a “war economy” and emphasized that terrorists are eliminated on sight wherever they are spotted, citing the recent operation in Hasan Khel where 12 militants were killed.

He described how terrorists infiltrate Pakistan “like ants,” exploiting mosques and public places for cover.

Addressing narratives of division, he pointed out that the military rescues flood-affected people and rebuilds damaged roads, while efforts are being made to create a false impression of distance between the public and the armed forces.

The army has held jirgas in Panjgur, Gwadar, Turbat, and Dalbandin to engage local communities.

He concluded that the level of clarity provided to the Pakistani nation this year regarding terrorism is unprecedented in the country’s history.
