Chaman: An exchange of fire took place between Pakistani and Afghan forces at the Chaman border, according to security sources.
Both sides reportedly used mortar shells and heavy weapons during the clash.
The firing was directed toward the Iqbal Post; however, fortunately, no casualties or property damage have been reported.
Security officials confirmed that the situation along the border is now completely under control, and Pakistani forces remain on high alert to prevent any further escalation.
It is worth mentioning that the security forces of both the countries launched attacks on each other’s territory last month and the strain on the border erupted.
The Afghan forces initiated the fight and launched attacks on the Pakistani territory.
The hostility was well-responded by the Pakistani armed forces and the security forces launched attacks on the havens and the hideouts of the militants in Afghanistan.
Pakistani security forces successfully destroyed the militant posts of the Taliban and many border posts were occupied by Pakistan.
The border between the two countries along with KP and Balochistan are closed for the past 25 days and no trade is carried out ever since then.
Pakistan has also enhanced the pace of the repatriation of the Afghan nationals residing illegally in Pakistan.
It is worth mentioning that the Indian-sponsored militant groups like BLA, BLF, BRA and many others have launched many such attacks in the ongoing year.

So far, thousands of innocent people have been brutally killed in many such attacks.
