Afghan Soil Must Not be Terror Base, Warns Pakistan After Chinese Deaths in Tajikistan

Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Mohammad Sadiq, has officially labeled the killing of three Chinese citizens in Tajikistan a "terrorist attack," asserting it represents a grave threat emanating from Afghan soil.

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Mohammad Sadiq, has officially labeled the killing of three Chinese citizens in Tajikistan a “terrorist attack,” asserting it represents a grave threat emanating from Afghan soil.

In a post on his official X page on Thursday, December 26, Sadiq stated that the deployment of combat drones in the assault underscores the severity of the threat and the “boldness of groups” operating from within Afghanistan. He expressed solidarity with the victims’ nations, noting that the Pakistani people intimately understand the pain of China and Tajikistan, having been “repeatedly victims of terrorist attacks organized from Afghan soil.”

The senior diplomat emphasized that Afghan territory must not be used as a launchpad for terrorism against its neighbors or any other country. He pointed to “the frequent use of Afghan soil by terrorist groups and their continued presence under the support of the Taliban regime” as a source of serious concern for both the region and the wider international community.

In light of the incident, Pakistan has called upon the Taliban-led government in Kabul to take immediate and “practical and verifiable measures” against the perpetrators, supporters, and financiers of such terrorist entities. Sadiq reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to regional security, pledging that the country will continue to cooperate closely with China, Tajikistan, and other regional partners to ensure stability.

These strong statements from Islamabad align with a press release issued by the Tajik Foreign Ministry, which confirmed that the three Chinese nationals were killed in a drone attack originating from Afghan territory. The incident has heightened regional anxieties about the security situation in Afghanistan and the Taliban’s capacity to control cross-border militant activity.

The Afghan militants have launched a drone attack on the company’s camp in Tajikistan killing three Chinses Citizens.

According to the Chinses Media, the Afghan militants launched an attack on a private company’s camp in Khatloon area of Tajikistan.

The Drone attack caused deaths to three Chinese national in Tajikistan.
