Pakistan urges Taliban regime to avoid interfering in Internal affairs

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has shown strong concern over recent comments by a spokesperson of the Afghan regime regarding its internal matters.

The Foreign Office said that Pakistan expects the interim Afghan government to respect the principles of non-interference in the internal affairs of other countries.

The statement focused on the fact that Islamabad “does not require external advice on its domestic issues” and called on Kabul to focus on addressing challenges within Afghanistan.

Furthermore, Pakistan urged the Taliban regime to fulfill the pledges it made during the Doha peace process.

These commitments and dedications, Islamabad noted, include ensuring that Afghan soil is not used for terrorism or hostile acts against any other country.

Moreover, Pakistan also reminded the Afghan leadership of the importance of forming an inclusive and representative government, which it said is crucial for long-term peace and stability in Afghanistan.

The Foreign Office called on Kabul to prioritize domestic reconciliation and governance rather than “engaging in baseless propaganda or commentary on external matters.”
