WASHINGTON: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, accompanied by a delegation, met with U.S. Secretary of State Mark Rubio in Washington.
During the meeting, discussions focused on counterterrorism efforts and regional peace.
The U.S. Secretary of State acknowledged Pakistan’s immense sacrifices in the fight against terrorism.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States, Rizwan Saeed Sheikh, was also present at the meeting.
The two sides also discussed various areas of bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and the United States.
Ishaq Dar appreciated former President Donald Trump’s efforts for peace amid Pakistan-India tensions.
He noted that the Pakistani community is playing a constructive role in strengthening bilateral relations and expressed optimism about progress in trade relations.
The meeting covered topics such as trade, investment, economic cooperation, and joint efforts for global peace.
Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to expanding opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.
