Pakistan to alert UN over India’s hostile moves

ISLAMABAD – In a significant diplomatic move, Pakistan has decided to update the United Nations on the escalating regional tensions and India’s increasingly hostile stance.

According to media reports, Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar has directed Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations to convene a meeting of the UN Security Council to formally brief the international body on the unfolding situation. The initiative comes in response to India’s provocative actions, particularly its unilateral suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, a move Pakistan views as unconstitutional and dangerously destabilizing.

Pakistan aims to inform the global community about how such aggressive policies are threatening not only South Asian peace but also regional and global stability.

The diplomatic notification underscores Pakistan’s determination to bring factual evidence before the international community and counter India’s inflammatory rhetoric. A central focus of Pakistan’s briefing will be India’s baseless accusations regarding the Pahalgam attack, which New Delhi has wrongly attributed to Pakistan without presenting credible proof.
In contrast, Pakistan has categorically denied the allegations and has offered a transparent, impartial, and neutral investigation into the incident.

However, India has rejected the offer and continues to issue veiled threats of military action, heightening regional tensions. In light of India’s stance, Pakistan has reiterated its commitment to national defense. Officials have stated that any act of Indian aggression will be met with a firm and forceful response, including, if necessary, the use of nuclear weapons to safeguard national security.Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, along with senior civil and military leadership, has held consultations with ambassadors and international diplomats to raise awareness about India’s destabilizing behavior.

Pakistan’s position has garnered diplomatic support from several countries, bolstering its efforts to present a unified narrative on peace, sovereignty, and regional cooperation.
