Pakistan takes peace message from U.S. to UK

LONDON : After completing its official visit to the United States, the Pakistani diplomatic delegation has now arrived in the United Kingdom.

The delegation, led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, had earlier visited the U.S. where they held meetings with representatives of various countries at the United Nations, as well as with members of the U.S. Congress and other key officials.

Speaking to Geo News in London, delegation member Faisal Subzwari said the visit began at the UN, where Pakistan’s stance was firmly presented. “Despite having military strength, we came with a message of peace,” he stated.

He urged global powers to caution India that two nuclear-armed nations cannot move forward in a hostile environment.

Referring to the Pulwama incident, he noted that India acted without evidence and continues to seek impunity for aggressive actions.

Subzwari added that Pakistan’s position was presented to the U.S.

State Department and members of Congress, where it received considerable acknowledgment.

He called it a diplomatic success for Pakistan and a failure for India. Sherry Rehman emphasized the need for peace and dialogue on Kashmir, stating that the Indian delegation’s aim was merely to blame Pakistan.

Delegation member Khurram Dastgir Khan mentioned that many in the U.S. believed the Trump-led ceasefire was sufficient and no further intervention was needed.

“Our mission was to explain that India neither wants impartial investigations nor meaningful talks, hence international involvement is essential,” he said.
