Pakistan Suspends Rail Services Across Balochistan

QUETTA: Pakistan’s railways on Thursday suspended all train services to and from Balochistan, officials said.

The Railway officials confirmed the suspension of the rain services from Balochistan to other parts of Pakistan. However, they didn’t mention the reasons of suspensions.

As a result of suspension, the Jaffar Express from Quetta to Peshawar did not depart today, officials confirmed.

Similarly, the Bolan Mail from Quetta to Karachi remained off schedule.

Services to the border town of Chaman, including the Chaman Passenger, were also canceled.

Railway authorities said all train operations from Balochistan would resume normal schedules from Friday.

Officials advised passengers to check with railway stations for updated schedules and ticketing information.

The Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), an Indian RAW-backed proxy group also known as Fitna al-Hindustan, has long been involved in attacks on trains.
