Pakistan sends 19th humanitarian consignment to Gaza

LAHORE: Pakistan dispatched its 19th humanitarian consignment to Gaza, reasserting its determination to supporting Palestinians during the ongoing humanitarian crisis. The 100-tonne shipment of relief goods was sent aboard a chartered flight, coordinated by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) in collaboration with Alkhidmat Foundation.

The consignment departed from Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport at 10:30 am. Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, along with senior officials from NDMA and Alkhidmat, was present to oversee the departure.

The aid package comprised flour, ready-to-eat meals, cooking oil, jam, and canned fruit. In addition with this latest dispatch, Pakistan’s total relief contribution for Gaza has reached 1,915 tonnes, delivered through 19 consignments since the outbreak of the conflict in October 2023. The chartered flight will transit through Egypt’s Al Arish before being transported to Gaza.

The aid comes at a critical moment, as Gaza continues to grapple with escalating violence and severe shortages of food and medical supplies.
