ISLAMABAD: Pakistani and Saudi officials held talks on expanding strategic cooperation between the two countries, the Press Information Department (PID) said Friday.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share a long-standing partnership across political, security, and economic domains, reinforced by deep religious and cultural ties. The two nations regularly engage at high levels on regional and global issues, often coordinating on matters related to peace, stability, and the Muslim world.
Last September, the two countries signed a landmark defense pact, under which aggression against one nation is treated as an attack on both, formalizing decades of military cooperation into a binding security commitment.
On Friday, Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki met with Pakistan’s Minister for Climate Change and Environmental Coordination Dr. Musadik Malik in Islamabad, according to PID.
The officials discussed ways to enhance mutual and strategic cooperation. Malik highlighted Pakistan’s priorities in climate resilience and sustainable development, emphasizing the role of international partnerships in tackling global environmental challenges. He also expressed appreciation for Saudi Arabia’s continued support across multiple sectors.
