Pakistan Warns Afghanistan Over Cross-Border Terrorism

Islamabad: Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi stated that the continuous wave of terrorist attacks originating from Afghanistan has severely tested Pakistan’s patience.

He emphasized that further attacks on Pakistani citizens and law enforcement agencies will no longer be tolerated.

During his weekly press briefing in Islamabad, the spokesperson highlighted that Pakistan has been a major victim of terrorism, losing thousands of innocent lives.

He noted that Pakistani security forces are facing terrorism that is planned, financed, and sponsored from across the border, adding that no responsible state can remain silent when its sovereignty and the security of its citizens are under threat.

However, Tahir Andrabi reiterated that Pakistan still believes in dialogue and diplomacy to resolve issues with Afghanistan.

He pointed out that the people of both nations share deep bonds rooted in religion, history, culture, and language, stressing that Pakistan desires brotherly relations and wishes to keep the doors of communication open.

Regarding India, the spokesperson expressed Pakistan’s grave concern over the human rights situation of Muslims and other minorities.

He mentioned that Pakistan is in continuous contact with the European Union and other international bodies on human rights issues, adding that the violations in occupied Kashmir were specifically raised during a recent meeting with the EU High Representative.
