Pakistan must stay alert amid growing threats: Abdullah

ISLAMABAD: Renowned analyst Abdullah Khan has stated that Israel has never accepted the idea of any Muslim country becoming a nuclear power, despite possessing nuclear weapons itself—though it has never officially acknowledged them.

The entire world is aware of Israel’s arsenal. He remarked that while a nuclear agreement was on the verge of being signed between the U.S. and Iran, Israel launched a strike, a move that reflects its 2003 doctrine: preemptively attack any nation perceived as a threat, even with nuclear force.

He noted that similar aggressive patterns have been observed globally, citing Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, India’s attacks on Pakistan, and Israel’s repeated strikes within the past year and a half.

Abdullah criticized the United Nations, saying it has become limited to distributing aid and food supplies, failing to prevent any armed conflicts.

Speaking on Buraq Digital’s podcast, he said that while Pakistan has demonstrated credible defense capabilities against the India-Israel alliance, it must remain constantly vigilant.

If Iran’s nuclear sites can be targeted, then Pakistan is also vulnerable. He explained that Iran relied heavily on its proxies in Yemen, Lebanon, and Syria, but Israel successfully dismantled them. Despite anticipating an Israeli strike, Iran was unable to relocate its key military leadership or nuclear scientists, nor could it neutralize the aerial attacks.

Abdullah added that although Pakistan is better positioned defensively, its nuclear program has already been declared a threat by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu.

Thus, a future attack cannot be ruled out. He highlighted that while Europe stands united under NATO, Muslim nations remain divided, each hoping they won’t be the next target—an illusion that weakens them further. As one Muslim country falls, the next becomes vulnerable.

Those Arab states that normalized ties with Israel under the banner of Abrahamic faith must now reconsider their decisions. Economic growth alone isn’t enough; they must invest in defense and strengthen platforms like the OIC to form a collective shield.

He concluded by stressing the importance of information warfare in today’s era. Disinformation has become a primary weapon.

People are often misled by false narratives and take impulsive actions based on rumors. India has employed this tactic against Pakistan and continues to do so.

The Iran-Israel conflict has been clouded with such misinformation that the truth has become difficult to discern.

For instance, a false claim was spread suggesting India had officially backed Israel. In reality, Indian officials were urging both nations to show restraint. Abdullah emphasized that understanding and countering disinformation is crucial in the modern age of warfare.
