ISLAMABAD: Field Marshal General Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff, held an important meeting with the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces, Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar, at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), both military leaders discussed matters of mutual interest, evolving regional dynamics, security challenges, and avenues for defense cooperation.
The two sides also agreed on enhancing collaboration in the defense industry and exchanging technical expertise.
During the meeting, the current security environment and effective strategies to address these challenges were also reviewed in detail.
Earlier, Lieutenant General Saddam Khalifa Haftar laid a wreath at the Martyrs’ Monument at GHQ, paying tribute to the sacrifices of Pakistan’s armed forces.
A smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army presented a guard of honour in his respect.
