Pakistan launches one-year multiple entry visa for Afghan drivers to boost trade

CHAMAN: Pakistan has introduced a one-year multiple-entry visa for Afghan drivers and transporters. The move aims to strengthen cross-border trade and ease travel for commercial purposes.

Afghan drivers can now enter Pakistan multiple times within a year by paying a fee of USD 100.

Diplomatic sources say the step is part of Pakistan’s plan to improve trade with Afghanistan. The new visa policy was developed after consultations between the Ministry of Commerce and the Ministry of Interior.

Officials designed the visa to reduce delays and improve traffic at key border points such as Chaman in Balochistan, and Torkham and Ghulam Khan in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“This visa will make it easier for Afghan drivers to operate and will speed up logistics on both sides,” an official said.

The policy also aims to promote legal trade and discourage smuggling or illegal crossings. Officials believe it will lead to more efficient and secure trade between the two countries.
