Pakistan Jets Strike Drone Assembly Sites in Kabul, Nangarhar

RAWALPINDI: The Pakistan Air Force carried out airstrikes in Kabul and Nangarhar Province, targeting drone assembly workshops, intelligence sources said on Monday.

All six facilities-four in Kabul and two in Nangarhar- were used to assemble drones from foreign components and were being used against Pakistan.
Multiple explosions and the sound of airstrikes were reported in Kabul late on Monday, according to local sources.

Explosions were also reported in Nangarhar Province. Tensions were said to have risen in both Kabul and Nangarhar following the blasts.

Some sources said the sites in Nangarhar were targeted in airstrikes allegedly carried out by jets of the Pakistan Air Force. Claims were also made by certain sources that a provincial government compound in Kabul was struck.

According to intelligence officials, four drone assembly workshops in Nangarhar and two in Kabul were targeted during the strikes.

The facilities were said to have been used to assemble drones using parts of unmanned systems described as originating from India and Israel.

Intelligence sources said the strikes were considered successful and could significantly weaken Afghanistan’s drone assembly capability.
