ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and his Iranian counterpart Eskandar Momeni held talks on bilateral relations, regional developments and recent progress following a peace agreement, officials said.
During the meeting, Momeni thanked the Pakistani government for the warm reception and hospitality extended to Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and his delegation during their recent visit to Pakistan.
Both ministers expressed satisfaction over the reduction in regional tensions and stressed the need for joint efforts to promote peace and stability.

Pakistan has consistently supported peace, stability and the resolution of disputes through dialogue, Naqvi said. He added that Islamabad would continue its efforts to support lasting peace in the Middle East.
The Pakistani minister also expressed hope that the agreement would have far-reaching positive effects across the region and contribute to greater stability.
The two sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation in security, counterterrorism, cybersecurity, immigration and other areas of mutual interest.
Momeni said he planned to visit Pakistan in the near future for detailed discussions aimed at expanding cooperation between the interior ministries of the two countries.
