ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Indonesia held a high-level ceremony to boost bilateral relations, attended by Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto and Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
During the event, the two countries signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on health sector cooperation. In addition, seven agreements and MoUs covering multiple sectors were exchanged.
Leaders discussed collaboration in medical, health, and vocational education. Pakistan also agreed to send medical officers, doctors, and experts to Indonesia.
Prime Minister Sharif welcomed President Subianto, noting this is the first visit by an Indonesian president to Pakistan in seven years.
Sharif praised Subianto as a wise leader and highlighted balanced trade, constructive dialogue, and the 75-year history of Pakistan-Indonesia relations. He added that the friendship has endured every test and recalled Indonesia’s solidarity during the 1965 war.
President Subianto thanked Pakistan for its warm hospitality. He called the JF-17 fighter jet salute in Pakistani airspace a special honor.
He emphasized the historic ties between the two nations and lauded the agreements and MoUs exchanged across various sectors.

Subianto thanked Pakistan for health sector cooperation and stressed further collaboration in education, trade, agriculture, and technology.
He also highlighted that both countries have taken a joint stance on Gaza, emphasizing the importance of regional peace and stability.
