Pakistan hosts trilateral talks with Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Egypt

ISLAMABAD :  A high-level diplomatic meeting will take place in the federal capital on March 30, bringing together the foreign ministers of Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Egypt, according to sources.

The meeting will be chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. Detailed consultations are expected on a range of regional and global issues, with the current situation in the region and common challenges facing the participating countries topping the agenda.

The gathering underscores Pakistan’s growing diplomatic engagement with key Muslim nations as regional dynamics continue to evolve.

Meanwhile German Foreign Minister Joachim Wadefeihl has revealed that representatives from the United States and Iran are expected to meet in Pakistan soon. The meeting aims to reduce tensions and advance possible negotiations between the two countries.

In an interview with German Radio, Wadefeihl said that Washington and Tehran have so far maintained indirect contact. “Preparations for a direct meeting are now complete, and Pakistan is expected to host this important session,” he added.

The announcement comes as U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, confirmed Pakistan’s central role as a mediator. He said positive messages have already been exchanged between the U.S. and Iran through Islamabad.

Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Information Minister Atta Tarar have also confirmed the country’s active diplomatic efforts. They said Islamabad is facilitating dialogue to reduce regional tensions and pave the way for negotiations.
