RAWALPINDI: The Federal Minister for Railways Hanif Abbasi stated that Pakistan has demonstrated its commitment to global peace by playing a constructive role in facilitating dialogue between Iran and the United States, focusing on that sustainable progress can only be achieved through peaceful means.
The minister said Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts have projected the country as a “messenger of peace” on the international stage. He noted that the recent developments should be viewed positively, expressing optimism that continued engagement would ultimately lead to lasting peace. “Wars cannot sustain the world; peace remains the only viable solution,” he remarked.
In this regard, Abbasi further mentioned Pakistan’s growing international recognition, claiming that the country’s national anthem is being appreciated in regions including Iran, Egypt, and the European Union.
He added that such global acknowledgment indicates Pakistan’s rising stature, which, he said, only a few nations have experienced.
The minister expressed confidence that Pakistan’s economy would witness growth, with key infrastructure projects such as Gwadar Port and Karachi Port expected to undergo significant upgrades.
He said these developments would increase commercial activity and strengthen the country’s economic outlook.
Meanwhile, Abbasi said the public is aware of the government’s efforts and has shown patience, even during temporary disruptions in Rawalpindi and Islamabad, recognizing them as necessary steps taken in the national interest.
He reasserted that Pakistan remains a safe country, attributing its stability to strong defense capabilities. He also urged India to focus on the welfare of its citizens, suggesting that internal development should take precedence over external tensions.
