Pakistan emerges as Global Transshipment Hub

KARACHI: Due to the ongoing war in the Middle East, Pakistan has become a major trade and logistics hub for the world, alongside Net Security Stabilizer services.

Business reports indicate a significant rise in activity at Pakistani ports, including Karachi Port, Port Qasim, and Gwadar Port. In just 24 days, transshipment at Karachi Port has already matched the total volume handled throughout the entire year of 2025, with 8,313 containers processed compared to approximately 8,300 containers in all of 2025.

According to Arab media, rerouting of shipping lines due to disruptions in the Arabian Gulf has boosted transshipment volumes in Pakistan. South Asia Pakistan Terminal handled 5,286 containers, Hutchison Port processed 1,827 containers, while Karachi Gateway Terminal completed handling of 1,200 containers.

Business analysts note that the Middle East conflict has provided Pakistan with a golden opportunity to establish itself as a permanent transshipment centre. Global experts view Pakistan as the best alternative location for transshipment needs.

Experts believe that CPEC and modern infrastructure are strengthening Pakistan’s position as a key trade and logistics hub in the region.
