KARACHI: The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has extended the airspace restrictions on Indian aircraft for another month, until January 2026.
A new NOTAM issued with government approval states that Pakistan’s airspace will remain closed to all Indian-registered planes until January 27, 2026.
The restriction applies to passenger planes, military aircraft, and private jets registered in India, the PAA said.
Pakistan first closed its airspace to Indian flights on April 23, 2025, causing billions of rupees in losses for Indian airlines to date.
The move reflects continuing tensions between the two countries and follows Pakistan’s long-standing policy to restrict Indian aviation access.

PAA confirmed that all Indian flights must reroute or suspend operations, emphasising strict enforcement of the ban.
