TEHRAN: Following escalating protests in Iran, which international monitors report have claimed more than 50 lives, the Embassy of Pakistan in Tehran has activated a dedicated crisis management unit to assist its diaspora. The move aims to provide urgent support and a reliable point of contact for Pakistani citizens residing in or traveling through Iran during the period of instability.
Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran, Mudasir Tipu, announced the measure on his official X account, stating, “The Embassy of Pakistan, Tehran has established a crisis management unit to facilitate its citizens.” The embassy released specific contact numbers for Pakistani nationals requiring assistance, ensuring the service operates around the clock.

The provided contacts include three mobile numbers for officials Mr. Farhan Ali, Mr. Faizan, and Mr. Kashif Ali, all prefixed with the Iranian dialing code. Additionally, two embassy landline numbers were shared. This step is a standard diplomatic protocol during overseas emergencies, designed to offer guidance, logistical support, and a direct link to embassy resources for concerned citizens.
While the protests are an internal matter for Iran, the Pakistani mission’s proactive communication underscores its focus on citizen welfare. The embassy has not reported any specific incidents involving Pakistani nationals thus far but emphasizes preparedness. The crisis hotline will remain active, with officials monitoring the situation closely and advising the community to exercise caution, avoid protest gatherings, and keep their documentation accessible.
