ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has reasserted its commitment to safeguarding key energy infrastructure and ensuring the uninterrupted supply of fuel across the country during a high-level meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar.
The meeting reviewed security arrangements for oil refineries and storage facilities nationwide. The session was attended by the Minister for Information Technology.
During the briefing, authorities informed participants that comprehensive security measures are being implemented in coordination with all relevant stakeholders, including oil marketing companies.
It was mentioned that the additional costs associated with enhanced security arrangements will be borne by these companies.
The Deputy Prime Minister expressed satisfaction with the existing security framework and emphasized the importance of continued vigilance to address emerging challenges.
He underlined the government’s priority to maintain stability in the energy sector, particularly in light of evolving regional and domestic dynamics.
The statement further noted that the government reaffirmed its resolve to ensure the protection of critical energy installations and to maintain a consistent and uninterrupted fuel supply throughout the country.
The meeting also reviewed the current status of petroleum, oil, and lubricant reserves. The Ministry of Petroleum provided a detailed briefing, indicating that sufficient reserves are available to meet national demand.
The government also focused on the importance of proactive supply chain management and effective monitoring mechanisms to prevent any potential disruptions.
