Pakistan Begins Repatriation of Nationals from Iran : CM Bugti

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti  on Monday said the repatriation of Pakistani nationals residing in Iran has begun.

In a statement, it was said that immigration officials were performing duties around the clock at border crossings. The return process was being organized in an effective and orderly manner.

Instructions were issued to ensure maximum facilities and assistance for returning passengers. More than 70 Pakistani nationals have so far arrived back in the country from Iran.

Separately, 19 Pakistani students reached Taftan amid rising tensions involving the United States, Israel and Iran.

According to the Deputy Commissioner of Chaghi, all students were safe at Pakistan House in Taftan. The students had been enrolled at Zahedan University of Medical Sciences in Iran.

It was stated that 12 of the 19 students were female. Twelve students were from Punjab and seven from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The students were to be transferred to Quetta before being sent onward to their respective hometowns.
