JEDDAH: Pakistan continued their winning run by defeating India by five runs to secure a place in the semi-finals of the F2 Double Wicket Tournament at the World Cricket Festival.
The match took place in Jeddah. Pakistan batted first and scored 56 runs for the loss of four wickets in four overs. Shoaib Malik led the innings with an aggressive 34. Imran Nazir added 16 runs.
India fell short in the chase. The team managed 51 runs for four wickets in the allotted overs and failed to reach the target.
The win marked Pakistan’s third consecutive victory in the tournament. Earlier, Pakistan defeated the United Arab Emirates and Sri Lanka.
Against the UAE, Pakistan scored 82 runs in four overs while losing only one wicket. Shoaib Malik and Imran Nazir dominated the batting. The UAE lost all six wickets.
Sri Lanka posted 75 runs for three wickets in four overs. Pakistan chased the target without losing a wicket and finished on 99 runs. Shoaib Malik struck 56, while Imran Nazir scored 30.
The F2 Double Wicket World Cup is the main attraction of the World Cricket Festival. It features a fast-paced and innovative format.
Ten international teams are competing in the tournament. Organizers have scheduled 23 matches over four days.
