CHITTAGONG: The official visit of Pakistan’s Naval Chief, Admiral Naveed Ashraf, to Bangladesh has concluded, marking a significant step in bolstering defense relations between the two countries.
During the visit, Admiral Ashraf held high-level meetings with Bangladesh’s top military leadership. He met with Army Chief General Vikram Zaman, Naval Chief Admiral M. Nazmul Hassan, and Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Shaikh Abdul Hannan.
According to a statement from the Pakistani military’s media wing, the ISPR, the officials discussed matters of mutual interest, regional maritime security, and ways to enhance defense cooperation. Both sides reiterated their shared commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region.
The Naval Chief also visited the National Defence College in Bangladesh to further professional exchanges.
The visit was underscored by the presence of Pakistan Navy Ship PNS Saif, which was docked at the Chittagong port. A reception was held onboard the ship, which was attended by the Bangladeshi Naval Chief, the Pakistani High Commissioner, foreign diplomats, and other senior officials.
The ISPR described the high-level visit as an important milestone in strengthening maritime and bilateral ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh.
Meanwhile in a significant public outreach initiative, Inspector General Frontier Corps (IGFC) Balochistan North, Major General Muhammad Atif Mujtaba, conducted a detailed visit to various commercial and public centers in Quetta on Friday.
The senior military officer toured key city areas including Mission Road, Kandahari Bazaar, Liaquat Bazaar, and Zarghun Road, moving through the markets like an ordinary citizen. He engaged directly with shopkeepers, customers, laborers, and local businessmen, listening to their problems and concerns firsthand.
During the interactions, citizens informed Major General Atif Mujtaba about a range of issues affecting their daily lives. These included security concerns, persistent traffic problems, cleanliness issues, and other local civic challenges. The IGFC North assured the public that their problems would be prioritized and resolved immediately in coordination with the district administration.
