Karachi: Direct flights between Pakistan and Bangladesh resume after 14 years
A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight arrived at Karachi’s Quaid-e-Azam International Airport, marking the resumption of direct air services between the two countries after a gap of 14 years.
The flight was warmly welcomed by Sindh Governor Kamran Tessori and other senior officials.
A ceremonial water salute was given to the aircraft upon landing.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Kamran Tessori said: “The hearts of the people of Bangladesh and Pakistan beat as one.
This renewed bond of love and friendship will also boost bilateral trade.”
He further stated that India is carrying out terrorism in Bangladesh just as it does in Pakistan.
He slammed India of conspiring against Bangladesh in cricket to eliminate the team from the World Cup.
He emphasized that the people of Pakistan and Bangladesh should stand together to counter Indian conspiracies.
The Biman Bangladesh flight carried 150 passengers.
Governor Tessori added that there are vast opportunities for cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh in various sectors.
