ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Army on Saturday expressed grave concern over what it called delusional, provocative and jingoistic statements from the highest levels of the Indian security establishment, saying they risk fabricating pretexts for aggression and undermining peace in South Asia.
The Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement that India has long played the victim card while casting Pakistan in a negative light and stoking violence across the region. It added that the narrative no longer holds: the world now recognises India as a driver of cross-border terrorism and regional instability.
The ISPR recalled that Indian actions earlier this year pushed two nuclear powers to the brink of a major war. It warned that India appears to have forgotten the loss of its fighter jets and the reach of Pakistan’s long-range vectors, saying New Delhi is seeking another round of confrontation.
Responding to recent remarks by India’s defence minister and service chiefs, Pakistan Army cautioned that renewed hostilities could produce cataclysmic devastation. It said Pakistan would respond resolutely and without restraint if conflict is renewed.
The statement declared that those seeking a “new normal” must understand Pakistan has already established one: a posture of swift, decisive and destructive response to unwarranted threats and reckless aggression.
Pakistan asserted that its people and armed forces possess the capability and resolve to take the fight into every part of the adversary’s territory and that it will challenge the notion of geographic immunity by striking deep into Indian territory.

On India’s rhetoric about “erasing Pakistan from the map,” the statement warned that any attempt would have mutual consequences. “As for the talk of erasing Pakistan from the map, India must know that if situation comes, the erasure will be mutual,” The statement concluded.
