QUETTA: The Pakistan Army has conducted 4,910 intelligence-based operations (IBOs) since November 4, 2025, eliminating 206 terrorists, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Overall this year, security forces carried out 67,023 IBOs, killing 1,873 terrorists, including 136 Afghan nationals. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa accounted for 12,857 operations, while Balochistan saw 53,309.
ISPR Director General, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, briefed senior journalists on national security, border management, counterterrorism efforts, and the shifting regional situation.
The DG said misleading narratives circulate about Pakistan’s border management. He noted the Pakistan-Afghanistan border stretches 1,229 kilometers, traversing rugged terrain with 20 official crossing points. Checkposts are often 20–25 kilometers apart, complicating movement control. Villages divided across the border further increase operational challenges.
He accused the Afghan Taliban regime of fully facilitating terrorists. Pakistan has provided solid evidence of terrorist bases, leadership, weapons, and funding in Afghanistan. He stressed that Pakistan’s issue is not with the Afghan people, but with the Taliban regime, urging Kabul to stop allowing its territory to support terrorism under a verifiable mechanism.
The DG also highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing repatriation of Afghan refugees. In 2024, 366,704 people returned home. In 2025, 971,604 refugees were repatriated, including 239,574 in November alone. He warned that any country supplying military equipment to the Taliban risks directly arming terrorists.
Lieutenant General Chaudhry criticized Indian leadership, saying its statements are deceptive. He ridiculed remarks by the Indian Army Chief, highlighting the implausibility of claims about multiple aircraft losses and destroyed S-400 batteries, calling them “fictional horror scenarios.”
He further revealed that most anti-Pakistan narratives on social media are run from foreign locations. These accounts continuously spread toxic content targeting Pakistan’s politics and internal stability.
On the National Action Plan, the DG said Balochistan has implemented an integrated security system, while Khyber Pakhtunkhwa still shows gaps. Police now cover 27 districts in Balochistan, securing 86 percent of the province.
He also reported a sharp drop in smuggling of Iranian diesel, a funding source for groups such as BLA and BYC. Daily smuggling has fallen from 20.5 million liters to 2.7 million liters following coordinated action by the Army, FC, and government.
Lieutenant General Chaudhry emphasized that Pakistan does not distinguish between “good” and “bad” terrorists. “A good terrorist is one who has been eliminated,” he said. He reaffirmed that truth always prevails, and Pakistan stands on the side of justice.
